Hernán Carvente Martínez
Board Chair
Hernán Carvente Martínez is the Executive Director of Alianza for Opportunity working nationally to foster thriving Latine/x, Afro-Latine/x, and Indigenous communities rooted in dignity, healing, and opportunity. He is also the Founder & CEO of Healing Ninjas, Inc. a health and wellness company using tech to build and deepen community between people on their respective healing journeys. He is a Chicano social entrepreneur, community organizer, and leader in the fight to end youth incarceration.

Antony Bugg-Levine
Board Treasurer
Antony Bugg-Levine is Board Treasurer at Community Connections for Youth and Chair of its Finance Committee. He is Managing Director of Bugg-Levine, Inc. and a Contributing Editor at ImpactAlpha. A co-founder of the Global Impact Investing Network, he brings deep expertise in impact investing, helping CCFY strengthen its financial strategy, grow sustainably, and advance community-driven solutions that expand opportunity for youth and families.

Michelle Díaz, MPA
Board Member
Michelle A. Díaz is the Executive Director of Canary Impact and a senior leader with Justice + Joy National Collaborative. Appointed to New York State’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Group, she brings deep expertise in systems reform. At CCFY, she strengthens governance and advances strategies that promote fairness, opportunity, and community-based support for youth. Her goal is to ensure that youth are treated fairly; avoiding further contact with the justice system, and receiving all the support and opportunities they need to be successful.

Mishi Faruqee
Board Member
Mishi Faruqee is a founding board member of Community Connections for Youth. She is currently the Director of the Andrus Family Fund, a NYC-based foundation that supports the self-determination, power and liberation of Black, Brown and Indigenous youth impacted by youth justice, family policing and other disruptive systems.

Mia Legaspi-Cavin
Board Member
Mia Legaspi-Cavin is a program officer at the Johnson Family Foundation, where she advances justice-focused grantmaking and fellowship initiatives. With a background in systems change, she has led efforts that center impacted communities, strengthen youth-adult partnerships, and bring healing practices into institutional spaces. She also serves as Board Chair of The Gem Project, supporting formerly incarcerated leaders.

Mariely Moronta-Sanchez
Board Member
Mariely Moronta-Sanchez is the VP, Regional CRA Office M&T Bank where she serves as an intermediary with the local community. She previously served as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Robert Rodriguez and held a role in community engagement at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. With experience across government, law, and finance, she brings a strong commitment to public impact, operational leadership, and advancing opportunities for underserved communities.

Ha Nguyen, MA, MPH
Board Member
Ha Nguyen is the Founder and CEO of Ubiquity Partners, providing strategic innovation for communities rooted in dignified health and social care. She is a finance and strategy professional with experience across investment management and corporate advisory. Ha brings a strong analytical lens and a commitment to mission-driven work, supporting organizations in strengthening operations and long-term sustainability. As a member of CCFY’s Board, she contributes her expertise to advance equitable opportunities and community-centered solutions for youth and families.
